Our client contacted us regarding some piling works for an extension at their home in Gorton, Manchester. They had discovered that the ground would not support their new extension and were therefore after some advice/solutions. First of all, we arranged to visit site to discuss the works with the client. We agreed that a piling scheme would best suit this project and confirmed a price for the works with the client. The works were booked to start at the start of the following week.
As the builder had already pre dug the footings for the extension, we began by installing our piling scheme as per our structural engineers design. It included steel cased top driven piles and beams. Once we had fully installed the scheme, we arranged for the local building inspector to visit site to assess the works. He passed our works which allowed us to begin concreting that same afternoon.
Overall, it took a total of three working days to complete all of the works. On completion, we provided our client and the building inspector with copies of the structural engineers design (calculations) and our piling log detailing the depth each pile went too.
In conclusion, our client was pleased with the high standard and efficiency of our works. They were looking forward to the building work commencing on their new home extension.
